A custom-made Fortnite mode brings Dead by Daylight’s asymmetrical gameplay to Epic Games’ popular title. The upcoming Fortnite mode takes clear inspiration from DbD.
Through the years, Fortnite has featured a variety of modes. From its Battle Royale to the more recent Fortnite Festival and LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite has become many games in one. Among these many different modes also lies Fortnite Creative. As the name implies, Fortnite Creative is a sandbox mode that gives players the chance to craft their own games and maps to share with the broader community, which has brought some great new experiences to life. One new creation is an intriguing take on Dead by Daylight’s formula.

A Fortnite Creative user known as Lemorion has built a new mode that is directly inspired by the asymmetrical gameplay of Dead by Daylight. In Dead by Daylight, one Killer is tasked with hunting down four Survivors, and this is exactly how Lemorion’s custom mode is played. The 1v4 mode, titled Survivors, may not have an official release date yet, but Lemorion has at least confirmed that it will be launched soon.

From skins and back bling to gliders and pickaxes, the game offers countless ways for players to customize their avatars. These cosmetics don’t affect gameplay but add a layer of personalization that enhances the gaming experience. The short 15-second clip shows a player trying to evade the custom mode’s version of Dead by Daylight’s Killer. The brief footage showcases an encounter of Dappermint trying to avoid Blinky’s capture still offers some solid insight into what the game mode has in store once it launches. Even the music being used in the custom mode sets the same tone as Dead by Daylight. However, the use of these particular Dappermint and Blinky skins in the gameplay footage also demonstrates a funny departure from the game that inspired the mode.
Since the mode launched back in 2018, Fortnite Creative has continued to evolve, and it’s provided many players with a great outlet to express their creativity. Lemorion’s Dead by Daylight-inspired mode is a great example of how creative the Fortnite community can be, and it brings even more value to the game as a whole. Thanks to its constantly changing nature, Fortnite has the ability to become a variety of different games all at once, which has arguably helped keep it so popular through the years. As Fortnite continues to grow, it will be exciting to see what other great custom modes continue to arrive via Fortnite Creative.
