In Path of Exile, The Fetid Pool is an optional area in Act 1. Collectors of path of exile items may know, this area does not have a waypoint and is connected to The Mud Flats. The area is roughly circular with a large muddy pool in the center. The exit to The Mud Flats is at the bottom of the area and Kadavrus is near the top.

The Fetid Pool may be a reference to the Den of Evil in Diablo 2. Both areas are near the start of the game, contain necromancers, and have an optional quest to fully clear the area. The following are the Monsters you will meet:

1. Kadavrus the Defiler: it is a unique Necromancer located in The Fetid Pool. Defeating him is the part of the quest A Dirty Job. Kadavrus the Defiler resurrects surrounding monsters; these can be Zombies or Bone Rhoas.

2. Bone Rhoa: it is a type of undead Rhoa which spawns in various Act 1 and Act 3 areas.

3. Dripping Dead: it is a type of Zombie found in Act 1. In the Mud Flats where they are first seen, they can emerge from underground in a very slow ambush.

4. Skeletal Beast: it is a type of Beast found in Act 2. Unlike most beasts, they are Undead. They are slow but have a strong melee attack.
